The incidents of mob lynching across the country are not taking the name of stopping. There have been many incidents of unruly mobs taking law into their own hands and thrashing to death. To prevent such crimes, on July 17, 2018, the Supreme Court had issued a guideline regarding hate speech including mob lynching. In this, a guideline was issued to prevent mob lynching, hate crime.

The court said in the guideline that the state government should appoint an SP level officer as the nodal officer in every district to form a special task force. DSP level officer will cooperate in stopping mob violence and lynching. At the same time, there will be a special task force which will collect intelligence information, who want to carry out such incidents or are giving fake news, provocative speeches.

The state government should identify such areas where such incidents have taken place and collect the data of five years. Hold a meeting with the Nodal Office Local Intelligence. Hold a meeting with the DGP and Home Secretary nodal officer. The Center and the state were also asked to maintain coordination among themselves. The government should spread propaganda against violence by this mob, in such cases, there should be a case under 153 A or other sections immediately.

Along with this, the charge sheet should be filed on time, which should be monitored by the nodal officer. The state government should prepare a compensation scheme for victims of mob violence and fix the compensation amount according to the injury. Cases related to such cases should go to fast track court. In the relevant section, the trial court should give maximum punishment and the government should bear the expenses of the lawyer of the victim.
