“We are concerned about the situation in Canada”, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller

Amidst the ongoing tension between Canada and India, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller has said that we are concerned about the situation in Canada. We cooperated fully with Canada. We have also appealed to India to help in the investigation and we will continue to make this appeal. India is an important partner of America and we work with India on many issues. But on this issue we appeal to them to cooperate with Canada’s investigation.

Here, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has expressed his views on the allegations made against India by the Canadian government. He said that the allegations leveled against India regarding the killing of terrorist Nijjar are not true at all. This is also because India never gets involved in such things as per its fixed policies. Let us tell you that the diplomatic dispute between India and Canada started when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that his government had “credible allegations” of India’s involvement in the murder of Nijjar on Canadian soil in June.

America also supported India

It is noteworthy that the White House had also termed the allegations made by Canada against India as wrong. Just a few days ago, the White House had said that the US is in touch with India over Canada’s allegations that New Delhi was possibly involved in the killing of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had said that the US is also in regular contact with the Canadian government.
