In the US, the ruling Democratic Party will retain a majority in the Senate as its two candidates are projected to win against the Republican Party candidates. In Nevada, Senator Catherine Cortez Maisto is expected to defeat her Republican rival Adam Laxett, who had the backing of former President Donald Trump. At the same time, in Arizona, Senator Mark Kelly is moving towards defeating Republican Party candidate Black Masters.
