Water camp organized to solve drinking water problem – dainiktribuneonline.com

Rohtak, May 3 (HP)

To solve the drinking water problem in the city, the Public Health Department started organizing water camps at the local Gohana Adda Booster. During this time, a large number of people came with problems like dirty water, less water, leakage in the streets, smell of sewerage from drinking water etc. It is noteworthy that on April 29, INDA alliance and civil organizations had organized a protest against contaminated drinking water in the city and had given a week’s time to the administration to improve the system. The administration made a program to directly solve the problems of the people by going to the localities and setting up water camps. Under this program, the first water was applied at Camp Gohana Adda Booster on Friday. CPI(M) team visited this water camp. Dr. Jagmati Sangwan, leading the CPI(M) team, inspected the camp arrangements and helped the citizens get relief. In the water camp, all the staff workers from bottom to top of the department were seen working diligently. On the other hand, the affected people were coming with problems like dirty water, less water, accumulation of water due to leakage in the streets, smell of sewerage from drinking water etc. Most of them said that they had complained many times before but no hearing was done. On this the department gave them toll free number and awareness pamphlets related to problem solving. A team from the department was seen present on the spot to solve the problem and bottles to check the quality of water were also given to the citizens. Department officials said that a similar water camp will be organized on May 6 in Jasbir Colony of the city.
