War: ‘Sending weapons to Ukraine puts Europe’s security at risk’, Russia again warns the West

In the last 24 hours, the war in Ukraine – which Russia launched on February 24 – has been surrounded by a heavy rhetoric full of high caliber threatswhich suggest that the conflict is not only going to last for a long time but also could quickly climb beyond the Ukrainian borders.

Responding to a series of statements this Wednesday by the British government, which came out vehemently supporting Ukraine’s right to attack targets on Russian soil and calling for the “total liberation of the country”, Moscow rushed out to the crossroads.

A day after Vladimir Putin himself said in person that he will not hesitate twice to respond with lightning strikes (using hypersonic missiles) to anyone who stands in the way of the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry added on Thursday that “a greater provocation than lead Ukraine to attack Russian installations will find with a harsh response from Russia“, said.

At a press conference, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov warned the West again against any incentive to attack Russian soil by Ukraine, something that has been happening in recent days.

Russia would not allow Western officials visit ukraine to dissuade it from launching retaliatory attacks against nearby Ukrainian targets, the spokeswoman also warned, when on Sunday the highest representatives of the Joe Biden government, its foreign minister and the head of the Pentagon, visited kyiv and met with Volodimir Zelensky.

“Western country advisers staying in Ukraine’s decision-making centers will not necessarily be a problem for Russia’s response measures,” Zakharova said.

“He’s idiot”

Zakharova also responded to reports that the United States is considering labeling Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, saying it is a move of “idiotic nature” that will not go unanswered.

“We, of course, do not leave anything unanswered, and they should understand this,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.

And he threatened that US attempts to take hostile action against Russia, due to crimes allegedly committed in Ukraine, they can “bounce” off Washington.

“The more the United States initiates this issue in the minds of the international community, the more the international community remembers the crimes of the United States,” he said. And she took advantage of the moment to clarify that Russia have not received a response yet of Ukraine regarding his latest proposals for a possible peace agreement.

“As of this morning (this Thursday), the Russian side has not received a response,” he said.

Heavy weapons to Ukraine, a red line

Who also spoke was Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov to launch a serious threat to Europefollowing the decision of more than 40 Western countries to send heavy weapons to Ukraine.

Sending heavy and other weapons to Ukraine is dangerous for European security, the Kremlin has warned.

Peskov was thus responding to a speech by UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss urging kyiv’s allies to “increase” military production to help Ukraine.

Western allies have argued that their support it does not amount to a military confrontation between Moscow and NATO.

But Peskov told reporters: “The tendency to inject weapons, including heavy weapons, into Ukraine, are actions that threaten the security of the continent, cause instability“.

Peskov followed the words of his boss, who just a day earlier had said that nations that cause “strategic threats” to Russia by intervening in the Ukraine war they would face a “lightning-quick” response.
