AThen inflation was already at a high level in February before the Russian offensive in Ukraine (+4.1%), its impact on the French budget promises to be significant. And this, despite the price shield announced by the government which freezes gas and electricity prices (after a 4% increase at the start of the year) until the end of 2022. Food prices will increase by significantly, whereas they were already expected to increase by 3 to 4% following trade negotiations between large retailers and agri-food manufacturers conducted before the start of the conflict.
