Mansa, June 3 (Agency)
Ahead of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit to Musa village, people on Friday staged a protest against the Punjab Police in Mansa for allegedly preventing villagers from entering the village by deploying heavy security forces. However, the police categorically denied the matter and said that no one has been stopped from entering the village. The Chief Minister will visit the house of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on Friday to express his condolences to his family. Ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Singh, who reached Moosewala’s house ahead of Mann’s visit, also faced protests. The protesters also raised slogans against the state government. A villager claimed, “Our vehicles are being stopped from entering the village. Vehicles of our relatives are not being allowed to enter. However, top officials of the administration and police reached the protest site to calm the situation. Punjab ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal had met Musewala’s family in Mansa on Thursday to condole the singer’s death.
