VIDEO: …when Pakistani citizens on board the ship raised slogans of “Bharat Zindabad”

The Indian Navy reiterated its commitment to ensure the safety of sailors in the area.

23 Pakistani citizens who were fishing in the Arabian Sea were rescued from Somali pirates. After this incident on Friday, the rescued Pakistani citizens raised slogans of ‘Bharat Zindabad’. The Indian Navy rescued Pakistani fishermen after a daring operation in the Arabian Sea on March 29.

It is said that late in the evening of March 28, inputs were received about a possible incident of piracy on a fishermen’s ship. On this, two Indian Navy ships deployed in the Arabian Sea for maritime security operations were diverted to stop the hijacked ship.

At the time of the incident, the fishermen’s ship was about 90 nautical miles south-west of Socotra. It was told that there were nine armed pirates on board. The hijacked fishing vessel was intercepted on March 29.

The Indian Navy has said in the statement that it is committed to ensuring maritime security in the region and the safety of sailors irrespective of nationality.
