Ukraine will never prove to be a ‘victory’ for Putin: US President Joe Biden

Joe Biden targets Putin

Ukraine-Russia WarToday is the 14th day. Russian attacks in the past two weeks have killed many people and forced many to flee. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that the Ukraine war will “never prove to be a victory” for President Vladimir Putin as global outrage over the plight of civilians trapped in the Russian offensive continues to grow. Hitting out at Putin at the White House, Biden said the war would have to pay a “terrible price”. The brunt of this is already in the form of two million refugees.

Biden said Russia may continue to destroy its progress at this terrible cost, but it is also clear that Ukraine will never prove to be Putin’s “victory”. He had hit Moscow’s economic lifeline by imposing sanctions on imports of Russian oil. Biden said that Putin may be able to take a city, but he will never be able to take over the country.

Significantly, the war between Russia and Ukraine has now reached a dangerous phase. Where the US has banned oil and gas imports from Russia. At the same time, Poland has announced to give all its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, so that the war against Russia can be fought. However, the US has said that this move of Poland is a matter of concern. According to the news agency Reuters, the US has rejected Poland’s offer to provide Russia-made fighter aircraft for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia has declared a ceasefire on Wednesday in the cities of Sumy, Kharkiv, Mariopol, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, in order to evacuate civilians trapped in the war. On the other hand, the US has said that lockdown action can be taken against Chinese companies that defy Western sanctions on Russia and Belarus. US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo gave this information on Tuesday.
