Two trains collided head-on in Germany: one dead and at least 10 injured

One person died and at least 10 were injured in the collision of two trains regional this Monday near Munich, in the south of Germany.

The two convoys collided late in the afternoon in the Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn station sector, south of the Bavarian capital.

“There is one dead and several wounded,” more than ten, a Munich police spokesman told AFP.

For the moment causes are unknown of the accident, police said. Apparently, the two commuter trains collided head-on at a point where the line was single trackaccording to the media.

More than 200 emergency personnel were still at the scene as of early afternoon, according to police.

According to the daily Bild, about 100 passengers, among them schoolchildrenThey traveled on both trains.

According to a local radio station, two trains were about to collide in the same area last August but the drivers were able to stop in time.
