Chandigarh, September 4 (Trinew)
At present, the data of the youth of other states who have got government jobs in Haryana is not available with the government. Through the Haryana Public Service Commission, how many youths from other states were selected for class-one and two jobs and how many youths from other states got jobs in class-III and IV posts in the recruitment of Haryana Staff Selection Commission, both the records related to this. The commissions don’t have it.
At the same time, the BJP-JJP coalition government has made a law to reserve 75 percent of private sector jobs for the youth of Haryana. However, there is a stay on this by the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the case is pending in the court. Opposition parties have many times raised issues regarding the selection of youth from other states in government jobs. This issue has also been raised in the Assembly. Congress MLA from Assandh Shamsher Singh Gogi had sought answer to this question in the monsoon session of the Assembly.
The answer to his unstarred question has been sent to him in writing by the government. Gogi alleges that instead of providing employment opportunities to the youth of Haryana, the state government is giving priority to the youth of other states. Gogi had sought from the government the details of jobs given to permanent residents of Haryanvi origin from 2014 to July-2023. Gogi has also sought information about the number of candidates who have been given permanent jobs in Haryana during this period but are from outside Haryana. The state government has said in its written reply that after receiving the demand letter from the concerned department, the Haryana Public Service Commission selects the candidates on the basis of merit, educational qualification etc.
After the selection of the selected candidates, their original application form and the accompanying documents are sent to the concerned department. HPSC does not maintain any record regarding candidates being resident of Haryana. Haryana Staff Selection Commission also adopts the same system. They are provided appointment after verification of original documents by the concerned departments.
