There is a huge shortage of wheat in the ravaged Pakistan, the prices of flour are touching the sky

Food crisis increased people’s problems

At present, there is a dire shortage of wheat in India’s neighboring country Pakistan. Member of the National Assembly and National Food Security and Research Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema gave information about this. He said in a statement during the Question Hour in the Upper House of Parliament that Pakistan is currently facing a shortage of 2.37 million metric tonnes of wheat in the country. Responding to a question in the Upper House, he said that the current year’s deficit was calculated after re-verification of carry-forward stock and total current stock position, according to The News International.

He said that this year the total wheat in the country remained only 28.42 million tonnes, while the production of wheat was 26.389 million tonnes and the carry forward stock was 2.031 million tonnes. Similarly, the country’s requirements were 30.79 MMT, resulting in a net shortage of 2.37 MMT wheat. At present, there are reports of wheat shortage and stampede from many areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan provinces in parts of Pakistan country.

It is known from this that Pakistan is currently facing a food crisis. According to a report in The Express Tribune, thousands of people spend hours every day in the cash-strapped country to collect bags of cheap flour, which is already in short supply in the market. During this, chaotic scenes are also being seen. The Express Tribune reported that the prices of wheat and flour are skyrocketing amid the ongoing crisis in Pakistan.
