The new US ambassador to Argentina, Marc R. Stanley, once again used his Twitter account to generate an exchange with Argentine citizens. This time he uploaded a video showing it riding a fancy bike through the woods of Palermo.
On his Twitter account @USAmbassadorARG, Stanley posted a message headed with a “What is our next destination? / Where should I ride next?“ and to which he added a video in which he is seen riding an “Elliptigo” bicycle, which is a mixture of an elliptical with a conventional bicycle.
In the 45-second clip, Stanley — dressed in a Dallas Mavericks basketball team jersey — walks through areas of the Rose Garden and in the final part he addresses the camera to leave a message.
In English, but with the corresponding subtitles, the ambassador tells that he loves to ride a bicycle, and that he likes to do it in Buenos Aires. “Here I am in the Rosedal, which is near the embassy, a great place to ride my bikeStanley says looking at the camera.
“I’m looking for other places, other neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. If you have any ideas, tell me by replying to this tweet. Thanks! I look forward to your comments!” she adds, concluding in Spanish with a “Thank you very much. Bye”.
Stanley’s tweet received hundreds of responses and likes, with the most diverse suggestions to continue touring the city aboard his exotic vehicle, which has a value that ranges from 2,500 to 4,000 dollars, depending on the model.
A few hours before this message, Stanley had published another where he showed the visit that the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, had made to the US embassy, in the middle of Alberto Fernández’s tour of Russia and China.
Stanley arrived in Argentina on January 20, and immediately began to interact with Argentines through his Twitter account.
After handing over his credential letters, Stanley introduced himself as the representative of the United States on Twitter, to generate an exchange and even published a video that received hundreds of hilarious responses, many with crack logic.
Alongside a video, the diplomat wrote: “Hello! I’m Marc Stanley, the new ambassador of the United States in Argentina. A few days ago I arrived in the country and I want to know more about Argentina and Argentines. Here I tell you a little about myself.
The answers did not wait. From the more traditional about try mate or choripánto reminders of another famous US ambassador to the country, James Cheek, who became known for becoming a fan of San Lorenzo during the presidency of Carlos Menem.
Alongside posts to report on his diplomatic activity, Stanley has continued to tweet about situations that he has lived in the streets of Buenos Aires.
