Buddha Purnima program was organized by the Indian Buddhist Association here on Sunday to commemorate the 2584th birth anniversary of Gautam Buddha. Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhash Sarkar was the chief guest. He said that Buddha’s message of peace, humanity and equality is relevant even today. Buddha’s thoughts and values ​​need to be adopted in practice for the fulfillment of life. The program was presided over by Bhante Sanghapriya Rahul, the National President of Buddhist Association of India. He said that PM Narendra Modi has sent a message on this occasion and said that the life of Lord Buddha is a boon for humanity. In the form of ‘App Deepo Bhava’, he has given the basic mantra of progress in life. Rahul condemned the demolition of Buddhist idols in the temples of Pakistan.

Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla said that today India and Indians are getting respect in the world because of the thoughts of Lord Buddha. He talked about incorporating the ideas of Buddha in the education policy.

Barla said that his ministry makes schemes for the needy people. Discussions will be held with Bhante Sanghpriya Rahul about what schemes should be made to help the followers of Buddhism. Former MP Anita Arya said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar adopted Buddhism, so that the society could be protected. Kapil Khanna, Delhi State President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said that whatever problems the world is facing today, their solution lies in the message of Lord Buddha.

BJP’s Delhi State President Adesh Gupta said that today many countries are progressing following the thoughts and principles of Buddha.
