The father of Salvador Ramos, the 18-year-old who caused the massacre at the Uvalde school in Texas, apologized to the families of the 21 victims and assured that he would have preferred his son to kill him.
“I would never have expected something like this from my son. I’m sorry for what he has done, he should have killed me,” said Salvador Ramos, who bears the same name as the young man who murdered 19 children and two teachers.
bouquets he was working when his mother told him about the massacre. “They have killed my little man. I will not see my son anymore, just as the other parents will not see theirs and that hurts me,” she added.

Ramos Sr., 42, told the site TheDailyBeast that it had been some time since she had seen her son because he had left Uvalde for work reasons. He added that they did not see each other during the pandemicas he did not want to risk his mother (who suffers from cancer) catching the virus.
Due to this situation, the relationship between the two had become strained and the 18-year-old had stopped talking to his father about a month ago. Despite what happened, the man maintained that his son he was “a good person”.
“He was someone quiet who didn’t mess with anyone. People were always bothering him,” he explained, before stating that his son had dropped out of high school due to the bullying that he suffered because of the clothes he wore.
Other relatives have maintained similar versions, explaining that the attacker received teasing for the way he talkedas he apparently suffered from stuttering.

The attacker’s father in turn explained that the young man had a strained relationship with his mother, Adriana Reyes, who apparently struggled with a drug addiction, and would have kicked her son out of the house.
Although Reyes has denied that this was the case, the attacker’s grandfather stated that he was living with them since the young man “had problems” with the woman.
What the Texas shooter’s mother said
In an interview with the press, Reyes, for his part, stated that while his son could be aggressive, “wasn’t a monster”.
“Sometimes I had a feeling of discomfort, like ‘What are you doing?'” Adriana Reyes said in an interview with ABC News Chief National Correspondent Matt Gutman. “He could be aggressive…if he got really angry,” the woman added.

“We all have moments of rage, some people more than others,” the shooter’s mother said.
Reyes expressed his solidarity with the children who were murdered and with his parents on several occasions during the interview, emphasizing that he was not aware that his son had purchased the weapons.
“Those kids… I have no words,” Reyes said, her voice cracking with tears. “I don’t know what to say about those poor kids,” she stammered.
