La Velada del Año 2, the Ibai Llanos event that brings together the most important content creators in the Spanish-speaking world and musicians, broke a record: it is the most watched Twitch event in history. There, where there are boxing matches all day, Momo debuted with a loss.
Ibai’s stream reached 2.5 million viewers and it continued to rise during the afternoon of this Saturday: it has not yet reached its peak of views. With this he surpassed TheGrefg, a Spaniard who gathered 2,468,668 people in January of last year when he revealed his Fortnite skin.
The call has to do largely with the stature of the artists, in addition to the streamers: Bizarrap, Bad Bunny, Duki, Emilia Mernes, Rubius, Coscu, Nicki Nicole and others passed through the red carpet of the event.
Among the most anticipated fights was that of the Argentine Momo Benavides, against the Spanish Viruzz, who defeated him and left him with significant cuts on his face.
In total there will be five bouts of three rounds of three minutes, while for the girls it will last two, in which they will face 10 fighters. In case of a tie, the judges must meet and assess who has made more merits to be declared the winner.
Consulted by Clarín, Ibai Llanos analyzed the debut of the Argentine streamer in boxing: “My guess for Momo’s fight is that it will be a complicated one because I think he faces one of the best rivals, if not the best.”
And he added: “Yes, I am sure that he is very prepared and above all very motivated because many colleagues have come from Argentina. In addition, he is receiving a lot of love and warmth from all over the country, even from personalities not coming to the event. I think that that extra motivation can help him, I don’t know if he wins, but I do think that he has to fight very hard”.
