The desperate request of a partner of the driver who murdered Sergio Berni: “They do nothing and they keep killing us”

The 620 line worker met the Buenos Aires minister after the death of his colleague and the attack the official suffered on Monday. The people are asking them for security, he remarked.

After the attack he suffered in a protest for the murder of line 620 driver Daniel Barrientos (65), Sergio Berni came across a driver from that same company on television, who made a series of complaints against him. Between them, he demanded that the political class “does nothing” while “they continue killing comrades.”

“There is a lot of pain, sadness and outrage right now. Tell the minister that we repudiate the events that happened, that there was no ambush or anything armed. We, as a body of delegates or union leaders from UTA, were waiting for a meeting that was frustrated by people who acted in a bad way,” said the worker, named Antonio, on the program “We are good” of TN.

Berni had previously defined security in the province of Buenos Aires as “a chronic patient, because it is not an issue of today, nor of yesterday, nor of (María Eugenia) Vidal, nor of (Daniel) Scioli, nor of (Philip) Alone. “It is a system that has been becoming more complicated and that in 2015 it began to be solved”, surprised the minister of Axel Kiciloff with that information.

The driver of the line that operates in the district of La Matanza, where the murder of Barrientos took place, contradicted him. “We understand the minister’s statistics and I do not agree with one: he says that since 2015 the statistics are going down, but we know that crimes and the acts of violence are more and more. we work in fearAntonio launched.

And he recalled: “When they killed compañero Leandro Alcaraz, 5 years ago, They promised us a lot of things and no one fulfilled. Between business chambers and politicians from different parties and jurisdictions, they blame each other”.

“It is time that put aside political differences and sit down to talk, even if they do not agree on the ways of thinking, because the people are asking them for security. They don’t do anything or at least we don’t see it”, the worker complained to Berni.

The driver of line 620 contradicted Sergio Berni and said that “there was no ambush or anything armed” when the minister was attacked.

The Buenos Aires minister avoided direct confrontation and tried to be understanding, although this position did not prevent him from responding to the worker’s demand: “What the man says is what he was reporting. The death of 2017-2018 with Alcaraz. We held that meeting with the minister (Cristian) Ritondo to support him in his search for the cameras they were claiming.”

“The effort that Kicillof made to deliver the money and on January 4 the Minister of Transportation of the province of Buenos Aires and intimidated the Chamber of Transportation to install the cameras, which became one more control point for VTV . Unfortunately what happened happened, but have no doubt that we understand anger”, he added.

It was that other point that the worker addressed, who took advantage of the possibility of having Berni connected and asked him another question. “They say that the government of the Province of Buenos Aires sent a sum of money to the companies for the cameras, which are not on.”

In TN, Sergio Berni avoided direct confrontation with the driver of line 620 and tried to show understanding, although this position did not prevent him from responding to the worker's demands.

“Us we don’t know who is lying, if the government, politicians or businessmen, but if the government of the Province allocates a large amount of money, it is supposed to follow up to see if that money went where it belongs. Because nothing was done and we they keep killing us comrades“, the driver reproached him.

Berni once again attempted to defend this situation. “He is right and Governor Kiciloff presented the documentation yesterday to the general secretary of the UTA. And above all things, on January 4, the Buenos Aires Minister of Transportation, (Jorge) D’Onofrio urged companies to report how they spent money that, through subsidies, had the sole destination of placing the cameras of safety in the vehicles”, explained the Buenos Aires official.
