The British Government demands that UEFA investigate the incidents in the Paris final

The british government has requested this Monday that the treatment received by the fans of the Liverpool before the start at the Stade de France, in Paris, of the Champions League final against Real Madrid, which London has described as “disturbing and disappointing”.

“We know that many Liverpool fans they traveled to paris on time to support your team in one of the most important games of the season and we are very disappointed in how they were treated“said a spokesman for Downing Street, the official residence of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The French authorities have blamed this Monday for the chaos in access to the final to the “disorganization” which enabled thousands of ticketless Liverpool fans to travel to Paris and the “mass fraud” of counterfeit tickets.

“The fans deserve to know what happened, so we urge UEFA to work closely with the French authorities in a full investigation” and that “their findings be published,” added the British official spokesman.

According to the London Government, some fans who had obtained tickets through the club were unable to enter the stadium. “That is exactly why we need a full investigation into what happened,” insists the spokesman, adding that UEFA justified the delay of the match with the delay of the fans when accessing the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis.

“That is inconsistent with the experience of many who were outside the stadium, so we need a full investigation to get to the bottom of what happened,” he added.
