The ambition of Carlos Alcaraz: “I see it possible to win Wimbledon”

It will not be for lack of ambition. Carlos Alcaraz is only 19 years old, but he already has two Masters 1000 under his belt, one in Miami and the other in Madrid. With those credentials, which are not usual at his age, it is normal for Carlos to set high goals, but that does not make his ambition for the big events, that is, the Grand Slams, continue to surprise him.

A few weeks ago, Carlos already said that he looked ready to fight for Roland Garros. Zverev took him away from that dream, however, he left a good feeling on his second visit to the clay of Paris. He now touches grass and that means that the big Wimbledon event is drawing near. Carlos knows it and goes for the highest prize.

“Of course I see it possible. In the end it is the dream I seek. It’s what I work for every day. Everyone remembers the 2008 final between Nadal and Federer, considered one of the best matches in history and it was spectacular,” commented Carlos after being named ambassador of his land.

In addition, Alcaraz acknowledges that he has grown up watching Rafa Nadal’s great matches on the grass of the All England Club in London and that he wants to follow in the same footsteps: “Rafa has won historic matches several times at Wimbledon, And I say to myself, I wish I could be there playing this kind of games'”
