The Flower Festival returns to Aibonito from June 24 to July 4 with the celebration of his 52nd anniversary and after two years without being able to celebrate pandemic. The traditional event, one of the most anticipated by the Puerto Rican public, will feature varied music and entertainment for the whole family.
This year, with the motto “Exhibition Gardens twinned by beauty with nuances of colors that adorn their flowers”, the Festival will have 32 gardens in which all kinds of existing plants and flowers can be appreciated. A jury, made up of active and retired agronomists Agricultural Extension Service of the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campuswill select the best gardens.
“We are very happy because we can finally celebrate this great event again. With this triumphant return, we want to focus on encouraging our visitors to make their gardens with different shades of green, red, yellow, blue, violet and many more colors that contrast and are very attractive to the eye. That’s what the public will be able to see at our growers’ exhibits. We will also have new gardens never seen before in Puerto Rico. We expect a great attendance and the public can be sure that it will be an event where we will all work together and respect the traditions that define the Puerto Rican family so much,” said Augusto R. Rodríguez, president of the Festival de las Flores.
In addition to the gardens and plant exhibits, the Festival It will feature the participation of more than 20 local and international artists who will perform on two platforms. There will also be an exhibition of home gardens, sale of various merchandise and kiosks with food and drinks.
The Festival of Flowers is celebrated in the back of the José A. “Marrón” Aponte Coliseum, on highway #722, kilometer 6.6 interior, in the Rabanal neighborhood, Aibonito. Tickets will be on sale in front of the entrance. Parking is free of charge..
