That little face of Mass…

It’s been about a year now that, unintentionally, mass rodriguezthe goalkeeper from Gran Canaria for the Real Madrid women’s soccer team, became the protagonist of a campaign of hate and harassment through social networks, first, and of national and international solidarity towards it later. The fact is that, and on the occasion of Real Madrid’s victory against Liverpool thanks, among others, to a goal by Marco Asensio, Misa came up with the idea of publishing an image of himself along with that of the player with very similar gestures and a text common, “Same Passion”. That was reason enough for the vandals who populate the networks to start harassing her with vulgar comments that are irrelevant because they are unpleasant. The mobbing suffered by Misa was so brutal that she preferred to delete the tweet and that provoked a unanimous reaction in her favor in which her teammates from the men’s team participated, such as Asensio himself, Courtois, Marcelo, Casemiro, Vinicius or Lucas Vázquez. That legend of ‘Same passion’ was shared through their respective official profiles by Barcelona, Leganés, Levante, Salamanca, Tottenham, Cádiz, Valencia, Grémio, Elche, Albacete, Sporting de Gijón, Eintracht… sexist attacks received that day turned against their sad executors and the slogan “Same passion” ended up becoming an improvised popular movement in favor of equality in football.

Yesterday the Camp Nou brought together 91,553 people to watch the match back from the quarterfinals of the Champions League between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Yesterday I already said everything I had to say about the torticero use of that game, and taking advantage of the fact that the rival was the white team, he did Joan Laporta, which on Sunday has a telematic assembly in which it must convince its partners to vote in favor of a sponsorship agreement of which they absolutely do not know a single detail. Like the first time he stood for election promising that he had signed Beckham when it was Florentino who had signed the Englishman, Laporta used Real again to fill the field. Nothing new under the sun since the thing about bread and the circus was already invented back in the year 180 after Christ by Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Commodus Antoninus Augustus, the one in the movie Gladiator. Despite the youth and inexperience of the Toril team, Madrid competed and even got ahead on the scoreboard, 1-2, but then the barrage of goals was important and it ended in 5-2. In one of the culés goals, apparently, Misa could do something moreall seen of course from the sofa in the living room at home.

Well, a video has gone viral that is just as sad or sadder than the harassment suffered a year ago by the Madrid goalkeeper because those images are not carried out by a harasser or by a sexist but by three Barcelona players and the (I suppose that incredulous protagonist) returns to be María Isabel Rodríguez Rivero, better known as Misa. Mapi León and Irene Paredes, with the collaboration of Jennifer Hermosowho plays the director of the short, make fun of mass while the four wait in a room for the anti-doping control to be carried out. Misa, sitting on the floor, crestfallen and saddened by her massive defeat, is not mocked by a vandal, no, but by three of her colleagues by profession and, by the way, her teammates in the national team. That little face of Mass…

I think the video has already been deleted, I guess because of embarrassment. Except for very isolated and exceptional cases to which the mockery has not seemed good to them, none of those 91,553 spectators who populated the stands of the Camp Nou yesterday have shown their disagreement with the humiliation and, quite the contrary, they have positioned themselves on the side of the pranksters and against Misa or they have simply left the forum. Moreover, twenty-four hours later, and already cold, one of the participants, Jennifer Hermoso, has published the following tweet: “For those who focus all their attention on things to stain yesterday, a friend said to cry to the I would cry.” If the conclusion that Hermoso draws from everything that happened in that room is that we have to go cry in the weeping room, we’re in a bad way. Discouraging. From my own experience I will say that, in general terms, what I have detected via Twitter is that the Catalans are extremely satisfied with the mockery and that they would repeat it a thousand times. Remember, Jennifer, Mapi and Irene, that many of those who laugh at you today were telling Misa a year ago that what she wanted was for Asensio to embed her. They can tell you tomorrow.

“Who are you going to believe, me or what your eyes see?” asks the brilliant Groucho. Jennifer Hermoso, who talks about video manipulation, pretends that we create her and not what we all see in an absolutely clear way with our own eyes. I mean, Jennifer Hermoso, and sorry for the rude expression, he takes us all for assholes. There are, indeed, those who have tried to tarnish yesterday’s show at the Camp Nou. And, by the way, he has succeeded. Congratulations. You have ruined a historic day with a video in which you make fun of a rival. Over time you have effectively managed to equalize yourselves with men’s football. Congratulations.
