telephone has been awarded exclusively for Spain with the audiovisual rights for the broadcast of the UEFA matches (Champions League and Europa League, as well as Youth League and Europa Conference League) for the next 3 seasons for 960 million euros.
These are the seasons 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27which it has acquired at a price of 320 million euros each, as reported by sources from the operator on Tuesday.
Said award, made on August 1 to the Telefónica Audiovisual Digital company, is subject to the formalization of a contract with UEFA that is expected to end soon. This agreement will allow Telefónica to offer all the main European football competitions to its customers in the residential segment.
Telefónica has explained that this content will reinforce its offer, which will continue to include all soccer rights in the Spanish market, while allowing it to continue designing and marketing its channels and content.
The Spanish multinational was awarded in December 2021, together with Dazn, the audiovisual rights of LaLiga Santander for the next five seasons (2022-2027) for a total amount of 4,950 million euros, which represents a disbursement of 990 million per campaign. Telefónica acquired five games per day plus three complete days; while Dazn with five games per day.
