Telangana government to bear the expenses of medical students returned from war-torn Ukraine

It may be noted that the Union Health Ministry and the National Health Ministry are discussing the possibility of easing the provisions of the NMC (Foreign Medical Graduate Licensee) Regulations, 2021 or enabling medical students returned from Ukraine to complete their courses in private colleges in India or abroad. Medical Commission is considering.

Sources said officials of the National Medical Commission (NMC), Ministry of Health, Ministry of External Affairs and NITI Aayog will hold an important meeting soon and the issue will be reviewed and considered sympathetically on humanitarian grounds. NMC (Foreign Medical Graduate Licensee) Regulations , 2021, the entire course, training and internship or clerkship shall be carried out outside India in the same foreign medical institution during the entire study period.
