The Taliban brutally shot and killed a young female doctor in Herat province of Afghanistan. Local media on Friday quoted sources as saying that the doctor was asked not to stop at the checkpoint. When he did not stop, the security personnel present there opened fire on him.

According to Khama Press, the female doctor has been identified as 33-year-old Amaruddin Noori. The doctor was murdered in the city of Herat after the police did not stop at the security checkpoint. The victim’s family members have claimed that the doctor was shot dead.

According to sources, Noori used to run a small private medical clinic. Recently Noori got married.

The Taliban have established their power in Afghanistan after capturing the capital Kabul on 15 August. The mass evacuation of foreign workers and Afghan allies continues after the fall of the previous government.

Earlier, the Taliban had assured the people of Afghanistan of their safety and that of their property, but such an incident proves the Taliban’s claims to be false.

The country has been in crisis since Kabul’s fall into the hands of the Taliban in August and the fall of the democratically elected government of former President Ashraf Ghani.
