Swapnil targets Rajat

Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale won a silver medal in the men’s 50m rifle three positions (threep) event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan on Thursday to give the country its second medal in the competition. 26-year-old Swapnil lost 10-16 to Rio Olympics silver medalist Serhi Kulish of Ukraine in a gold medal match. This is Swapnil’s first individual ISSF World Cup stage medal. India’s 12-member rifle team has won a gold and a silver to move up to the fifth position in the medal tally. Swapnil on Thursday finished second only to Kulish in the top eight ranking round and then lost to the Ukrainian champion in the gold medal clash. Finland’s Alexei won the bronze medal with a score of 407.8.
