President López Obrador celebrated this Friday the resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) that determined Constitutional Law of the Electricity Industrythus benefiting the dispatch of energy by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
“It was a historic, patriotic decision, for the benefit of the people of Mexico, for the benefit of the nation,” the president applauded.

With four votes in favor of the project, among which were those of the ministers Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz-Mena and Arturo Zaldívar, the plenary session of the highest court determined its validity.
However, since a majority was not obtained, the action of unconstitutionality was dismissed without making any pronouncement, which opens the way to present new shelters related to this law.
Without skimping on the achievement, López Obrador considers that this is enough to “carry out the Electricity Commission and thus maintain the commitment not to increase the price of electricity.”
“If they decide not to vote for the constitutional reform, let them know that with yesterday’s decision we already have the basic protection that mattered to us,” he warned the opposition.
The parliamentary members of the Chamber of Deputies will vote in fast track on the opinion of the electricity reform next Tuesday, April 12.
