India on Thursday successfully test-fired the new generation ballistic missile ‘Agni Prime’ from an island off the Odisha coast. DRDO test-fired ‘Agni Prime’ from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Coast and during this, the missile passed all parameters, officials said. After three successful trials of ‘Agni Prime’ in the development phase, this missile’s first night trial before its induction into the armed forces has proved its accuracy and reliability. The two ships, fitted with horizontal distance measuring equipment such as radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking systems, were deployed at different locations to collect data throughout the missile’s journey, he said.
