Son by Four resumes his career with a new spiritual theme

The Puerto Rican group Son by Four, that in 2000 met worldwide success with the song “A puro Dolor” and that later gave a turn to Christian music, promotes his new single “What you have started”.

“God has started a good work in us and He will finish it, if we cooperate with his grace,” reflected Jorge Montes, one of the three members of Son by Four, in a press release issued this Saturday.

“This song reminds us of this great teaching and truth of faith. Being able to look back and see how the Word of God and his promises are fulfilled today and always. It is a reason to give glory to God and give him our whole life, ”he added.

Montes also said that the theme “What you have begun” reminds us that “in difficult times and tribulations, in nights of suffering and in falls, we know that God is with us and what has begun in you and in me, will finish it.”

The theme has a music video, in which the Colombian actor Andrés Sandoval, protagonist of the Netflix series “La Reina del Flow”, participates.

Prior to “What you have started”, the most recent song that Son by Four had released was “Tu Voluntad” in August 2020.

As Montes explained at the time to Efe, the muse to compose “Your Will” came during a sermon by Pope Francis in 2019, in which he reflected on the subject of doing the will of God. “What is the will of God incarnate? in Jesus?: To seek and save what is lost”, recalled Montes.

Son By Four’s latest record production, “Woman in front of the Cross”, managed to be nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2015, in the category of Best Christian Album.

In 2000, the group achieved success with the song “A puro Dolor”, from the album “Son by Four”, performed by the then rapper Ángel López.

The song came to stay five months at the top of Billboard magazine’s “Hot Latin Tracks” list and as a result of such success it began to be heard in countries such as Germany, Argentina, Spain, Holland, Mexico, Switzerland, as well as in Asia, where the production was sold in the Japanese version.

However, after the group experienced “the fame, the money, the red carpets and the trips in private planes”, it was divided in 2003.

In 2007, the group launched its first Christian music production “Aquí está el Cordero”, followed by “Abba Nuestro” (Our Father), “Católico soy” and “Mujer Frente a la Cruz”.
