Shiv Sena ready to come out of Maha Vikas Aghadi government, rebel MLAs return to Mumbai in 24 hours: Sanjay Raut

Mumbai, June 23 (Agency)

Amid revolt by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, party MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday said that if the group of rebel MLAs who are camping in Assam return to Mumbai in 24 hours and discuss the matter with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena will be in Maharashtra. Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is set to quit the government. Shinde is currently camping in Guwahati along with 37 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and 9 independents, which has thrown the party-led Maharashtra government into trouble. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress are also partners in the MVA government.

Raut told reporters here, “You say you are a real Shiv Sainik and will not leave the party. We are ready to consider your demand, provided you come back to Mumbai in 24 hours and discuss this issue with CM Uddhav Thackeray. Your request will be considered positively. Do not write letters on Twitter and WhatsApp. He said, “The rebels, who are based out of Mumbai, have raised the issue of Hindutva. If all these MLAs feel that Shiv Sena should get out of MVA, then show courage to come back to Mumbai. You say that you have trouble only with the government and also say that you are a true Shiv Sainik… Your demand will be considered, but come and talk to Uddhav Thackeray.” Chief Minister Thackeray had on Wednesday offered to step down from the top post amid Shinde rebellion and later vacated his official residence in south Mumbai before moving to his family home in suburban Bandra.
