Shakira’s ex-partner offers her support in the midst of the crisis

Can you always go back to where you left happy or, rather, with whom you left happy at some point? It is no secret to anyone that, in recent months, Shakira’s life has taken an unexpected turn. Between her separation from Piqué, the accusation of alleged tax evasion in Spain and the supposed legal dilemma in which she has been involved due to the custody of her children, more and more questions arise regarding the future of the Barranquilla singer.

Although the interpreter of ‘Waka Waka’ is in one of the “most difficult and darkest” stages of her life, as she expressed in an interview for the magazine ‘Elle’ of Spain a few days ago, everything seems to indicate that she would have found consolation and support in the least expected person: the Argentine socialite and businessman Antonio de la Rúa, with whom the artist had an 11-year relationship.

The person in charge of releasing this controversial news was the presenter Karina Lavícoli on the Argentine television program ‘Socios del Espectáculo’, in which she announced that the artist and the son of former president Fernando de la Rúa might have gotten closer through phone calls and they would even have arranged a meeting.

“I am in a position to say that those who resumed contact through phone calls and meetings that are scheduled for later, because she is having a very difficult time, are Shakira and Antonio de la Rúa. This is a bomb!” she expressed.

Some rumors suggest that de la Rúa could be helping the singer settle in Miami, after she withdrew from the sale an eccentric mansion valued at 14.6 million dollars – which she owns in the city in southeastern Florida.

The relationship

Before starting her courtship with Gerard Piqué, the singer lived one of the most memorable romances of the national and international show business with the also lawyer and image consultant Antonio de la Rúa. The love story that began in the year 2000 during a dinner in Argentina ended up sinking into a cluster of rumors, speculation and millionaire demands, according to the newspaper ‘New York Daily News’.

De la Rúa became something more than Shakira’s sentimental partner, he became her manager and right-hand man while the professional career of the artist from Barranquilla was consolidated as one of the most promising in the music industry. The businessman was even behind the success of ‘Laundry service’ -one of the singer’s most popular records- and inspired the iconic song ‘Día de Enero’. However, the couple broke up in 2010.
