Amid an intelligence alert about a possible terror attack in Mumbai on New Year’s Eve, the city police have beefed up security at railway stations and other public places. Also, keeping in view the availability of full capacity, the weekly holidays of the policemen have been cancelled. Officials gave this information on Thursday. A police official said, “In order to maintain law and order, the police will maintain strict vigil across the city on December 31. Keeping in mind the gathering of people at major places like Gateway of India and Marine Drive, a heavy police force will be deployed in the city. ,
