Scary form of COVID-19 in France: More than 1 lakh new cases in 24 hours, new records being made for 3 days

France In Coronavirus The infection has registered six digits i.e. above one lakh new cases, breaking all the records on Saturday. According to health officials, 104,611 new cases have been registered in France in the last 24 hours, which is a record number for the third consecutive day. These latest figures from France’s Public Health Agency come as President Emmanuel Macron and key members of his government are scheduled to discuss new COVID safety measures in a video-conferencing meeting on Monday. Officials are concerned about the impact of the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.

The health authority on Friday recommended that adults be given a booster dose three months after their initial vaccination. Now the government is working on a strategy to make the vaccinated health pass valid only after people have taken a booster dose. This pass is required for cafes, restaurants and public places in France, as well as for international travel.
