Salsero Charlie Aponte launches theme to highlight love and classic romanticism

The Puerto Rican Salsero charlie aponteformer member of the legendary orchestra The Great Combo of Puerto Rico for more than 40 years, premieres this Monday his new song “El Último Romántico”, which refers to love and classic romanticism.

“I thank God, my family, my work team, my orchestra in Puerto Rico, who recorded this production with me, and the entire audience for their support, above all, for receiving our musical proposal and making it their own”Aponte said in a statement.

The song, written by Rafy Monclova and arranged by Ramón Sánchez, has Johnny Rivera and Ramón Rodríguez on the choirs, said Aponte, who celebrates seven years of solo career after leaving El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico in 2015.

“Grateful to each and every one of those who participated in this recording, my great orchestra. Happy to have the special collaboration of my friends and colleagues”, added Aponte.

The song “El Último Romántico” includes a video clip recorded by Gabriel Ramos of G Ramos Productions at Hacienda 601 in Adjuntas, a city in the central and mountainous area of ​​Puerto Rico.

Aponte will soon have a tour of Europe, in addition to his commitments in cities in the United States such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Hollywood Beach, Philadelphia, Maui and at Lehman College in New York, as well as in Colombia.

Aponte joined El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico at the age of 22, in 1973, after the departure of Pellín Rodríguez.

With El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Aponte stood out for the recording of the songs “Arroz con habichuela”, “I see you baby”, “Como trembla el alma”, “Piénsalo” and “Un no sé qué”.

In November 2017, Aponte released his second solo album after his departure from the aforementioned orchestra and the first independently, “Pa’ mi gente”.

The album “Pa’ mi gente” is Aponte’s second solo album, after “Una nueva historia”, which he released in 2015, after more than four decades as the main singer of the mythical band El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico.
