The governor of Odessa said that the Ukrainian forces on Wednesday damaged a Russian warship Moskva in the Black Sea with missile strikes. Governor Maxim Marchenko wrote on Telegram, “The Neptune missiles protecting the Black Sea have caused very serious damage to the Russian ship.” Oleksey Erestovich, adviser to the Ukrainian president, said it was “a surprise for the head of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.”
“It’s still burning hard. With these stormy seas, it’s unknown whether they’ll be able to get help. There are 510 crew members,” he said during a YouTube broadcast. At the same time, he said, “We do not understand what happened.”
