The miscreants robbed two crore 62 lakh rupees from the cash van that came to put money in the ATM machine located in Sector 1 of the city. During this, the miscreants also shot the security personnel of the cash van and fled with his weapon. Later on getting information, heavy police force including IG Mamta Singh and SP Uday Singh Meena reached the spot. Police checked the vehicles by blocking the entire district, but no clue was found about the robbers. It is being told that the miscreants had brought empty sacks with them, in which they fled after filling the money.
According to the police, at around 2 pm on Friday, the cash van had reached Axis Bank’s ATM located in Sector 1, to deposit money. Meanwhile, two motorcycle-borne youths also reached there and as soon as the security personnel came down from the cash van, the youths started firing on him. The security guard was injured by the bullet and fell there. After this, the miscreants took out the cash from the boxes kept in the cash van and fled after filling it in the sacks. Investigation revealed that a car was also following the cash van. It is feared that later the youth riding the motorcycle fled with the cash in the car. The security personnel who sustained bullet injuries have been admitted to PGI, where his condition is said to be critical. According to the Superintendent of Police, the CCTV footage is being scanned.
