Recommendation for US seal on H-1B visa approved

Washington, September 30 (AGENCY)

A Presidential Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has unanimously passed a recommendation to seal H-1B visas in the US. If President Joe Biden approves it, it will bring great relief to thousands of professionals, especially Indians. The H-1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows US companies to recruit foreign workers into professionals with specific expertise. The current process requires a person to apply for a visa stamp at a US consulate or embassy in their home country to work for a US company. The President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders took this decision.

Indian-American citizen Jain Bhutoria, a member of the commission, had recommended the seal on H-1B visas. Bhutoria said in the meeting, “There are also situations when many people whose parents are ill or someone’s guardian passes away, but they are unable to go back, they fear that the application may not get stuck in their country.” Go.’ Bhutoria said, “The waiting period for getting visa in India at present is 844 days.
