Raphy Pina remembers his father hours before being sentenced

Just several hours before hearing the sentence that will be ruled by federal judge Francisco Besosa, the music producer raphy pina he remembered his father on his social media accounts. It turns out that on a day like today 22 years ago, according to the Puerto Rican, his father Rafael Pina suffered a stroke that caused him to die four days later, on May 28, 2000.

“22 years. 22 years of my worst test in LIFE. Although on the 22nd of this month they sent me a blessing, this year #22 touches me with tears in my eyes, facing yet another test at 9 in the morning”wrote the businessman, who was found guilty on December 22 for illegal possession of two firearms.

“How hard it has been for those who pretend to have an eternal armor. That’s why, today more than ever, the last name you lent me sounds, not the way you’d like, but I know you know the truth and why I keep going. I get another one, another MORE. It’s still explaining why you gave me that one book to read. Thank you for your prayers #KeepLearning”

Along with the message, the producer of daddy yankee and president of the company Pina Records included some photographs of him from when he was little together with his father. In addition to that, he added to the message “screenshots” of various messages he posted on social media from him in 2010 and 2014 along the same lines as today’s message.

For example, on May 24, 2010, the partner of the singer Natti Natasha wrote: “A day like today, at 9:10 am, life gave me the hardest blow of my life, when I received the call that my father had suffered a stroke. It is the most heartbreaking news you can receive. See the most you love suffering some effects, which are out of your hands. And that’s when time stops and your mind betrays you and you don’t know if it’s reality or not. It’s when your life means nothing,” Pina mentioned back then.

Last December, Pina was also found guilty of possession of firearms by a person who was convicted of a felony. This because Pina Nieves pleaded guilty to bank fraud in 2015 and was sentenced to two years of supervised release in January 2016.

To dictate his sentence, the judge has before him a report from the United States Probation Office that included a calculation of 33 to 41 months in prison. Meanwhile, prosecutors presented arguments to “recommend a sentence within the variant sentencing range of 46 to 50 months in prison.”

However, Pina Nieves’s attorneys submitted a sentence last Thursday in which they requested a sentence of probation for understanding that their client “has much to offer Puerto Rico during these difficult times,” both as a father, businessman and “philanthropist”.
