Ranji Trophy: Sarfaraz’s century, Mumbai’s 374 runs

BENGALURU (Agency) : Sarfaraz Khan’s scintillating century helped 41-time champions Mumbai post a first innings total of 374 against Madhya Pradesh on the second day of the Ranji Trophy final here on Thursday. Sarfaraz played an innings of 134 runs in 243 balls, scoring his fourth century of the season. Mumbai started the day with 248 for five. In reply, Madhya Pradesh made a good start by scoring 123 for one till the end of the day’s play. Sarfaraz, who was the highlight of the day, faced 243 balls and hit 13 fours and two sixes in his innings. Sarfaraz made four short but effective partnerships. He took 40 for the seventh wicket with Tanush Kotian (15), 26 for the eighth wicket with Dhawal Kulkarni (01), 39 for the ninth wicket with Tushar Deshpande (06) and Mohit Awasthi (07) for the last wicket. Added 21 runs for it.
