Public finance programming: the executive hopes for a compromise with LR

Lhe government could finally seek to have its public finance programming law (LPFP) adopted, which provides for the budgetary trajectory until the end of Emmanuel Macron’s five-year term in 2027. At first reading, the text, which the executive does not cannot pass through 49.3 without toasting its only cartridge per parliamentary session (unlike the finance bill and the Social Security finance bill 2023), had been rejected by the deputies.

A setback for the majority, which had seen the opposition coalesce against this text, including the Republicans. The Nupes accused this budgetary trajectory, which provides for a return to a deficit of 3% in 2027, against 5% in 2022, of endorsing the return of austerity, when the right saw it to the contrary…
