Private double decker bus catches fire, 2 killed – dainiktribuneonline.com

A double-decker private bus carrying Rajasthan passengers and luggage going from Delhi to Jaipur caught fire late on Wednesday evening, due to which two passengers died and 15 were injured. Many passengers broke the window and came out. Many people were rescued by people from other vehicles on the highway and admitted to nearby hospitals. Police Commissioner Vikas Arora and other police officers, district administration officials, disaster management officials and all other medical arrangements reached the spot and helped the victims. The bus is completely burnt. According to the information, the bus had left from Dhaula Kuan in Delhi at 8:00 am with passengers loaded and started burning on the highway near Sector-31 of Gurugram at around 9:45 pm. Being a double decker bus, the bus was filled with passengers till the roof and there was luggage on the roof due to which the fire took full form. The passengers got a chance to escape with great difficulty and most of them risked their lives to get out by breaking the windows and fell on the road. The timely help of administrative officials and fire brigade also helped in controlling the situation. Officials have confirmed the death of two people and their identities are not yet known. A fire brigade official said that after receiving the information, he reached the spot and controlled the fire but the bus was engulfed in fire from all sides and was completely burnt. After the fire was extinguished, an investigation was conducted inside the bus and the death of two people was confirmed. Civil Surgeon Dr. Virendra Yadav has said that two have died and 15 passengers are injured. Three of them have been referred from Medanta and one from Civil Hospital. He has been sent to Delhi.
