“My message to the American people is this: America is moving again and its life is going to change for the better,” he promised.

“We agreed that this would be a truly bipartisan process“said Senator Rob Portman, a Republican from Ohio, at the White House meeting.

Despite some Republicans reaching out, most of the opposition party is in no mood to declare a truce. Far-right Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trump advocate, called her 13 supporters who voted alongside Democrats “traitors.”

The White House hopes that signing the bill will give it a new boost to Biden, being the largest government investment of its kind since the creation of the national highway network in the 1950s.

Still a $ 1.75 trillion package is pending for daycare, education and other social expenses.

Internal divisions among the Democratic parties are holding it back and the proposal does not have any Republican support. However, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, believes that “hopefully this week” they will pass the bill.
