PM’s rally in Shimla today, ‘Queen of Hills’ changed to fort

Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is ready to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi will address the nation from the Ridge Maidan tomorrow on the occasion of the completion of eight years of the NDA government at the Centre. For Modi’s rally, where the city of Shimla is completely painted in saffron color, tight security arrangements have been made for the rally. The whole city has turned into a fort.

Normal traffic is completely banned from 7 am to 2 pm on tomorrow, May 31, from Annadel Ground to Kennedy Chowk via Kumar House. People of this area will be allowed to travel from Anadale to Cart Road only via Police Line Kathu. In view of the rally, the Superintendent of Police, Shimla has urged the local people and the people who reached the rally to reach the Ridge ground by 8 am so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience.

The Superintendent of Police has appealed to the people coming to the rally not to park their vehicles on the roadside and strictly follow the traffic plan. Tomorrow, U-turn will also remain closed in the entire Shimla city. According to the Superintendent of Police, people will be able to enter the rally site only from Lakkar Bazar and Scandal Point. He said that people should not even bring water bottles with them to the rally venue. Carrying of bags will also be prohibited at the rally venue. Meanwhile, in the election year, Narendra Modi’s rally has high hopes for the people of the state, especially the Jai Ram Thakur government, so that it can face the people and the opposition parties firmly in the elections. Rally to be under the shadow of Pannu’s threats Pannu made a recorded phone call to politicians, officials and common people in the state today and threatened to stay safe and stay away from the rally. In view of this, the security agencies have become more alert. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also predicted light rain in Shimla after noon on May 31. On the other hand, the administration has issued orders not to allow vehicles coming from Upper Shimla and Sanjauli-Dhali bypass towards Shimla in front of 103 tunnel on Shimla-Kalka road. From Upper Shimla, only Dhali-Kusumpti bypass can come towards Shimla or Chandigarh. The rear part of the platform installed on the ridge, the church and the surrounding area were completely closed for traffic after 7 pm today and the entire ridge after 10 pm.
