During this, the PM was honored with the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award. After which PM Modi while addressing the program said that I am not knowledgeable about a deep subject like music, but with cultural understanding, I feel that music is a sadhna as well as a feeling. The one who expresses the avyakt – that is the word. The one who transmits energy, consciousness in the expression – that is sound. And that which fills the conscious with emotion and feeling, reaches it to the culmination of creation and sensation – that is music. Music fills you with bravery. Music can give a feeling of motherhood and love. Music can take you to the pinnacle of patriotism and duty.
PM Modi said that we are all fortunate that we have seen this power of music, this power in the form of Lata Didi. We had the privilege of seeing him with our own eyes. For me, this experience has been more than that. For me, Lata didi was the sur empress as well as my elder sister. What can be a greater privilege than to have got the love of your sister from Lata didi, who has given the gift of love and emotion to generations.
He said that when the award is in the name of an elder sister like Lata didi, it is a symbol of her affinity and love for me. Therefore, it is not possible for me to refuse. I dedicate this award to all the countrymen. Veer Savarkar wrote this song challenging the British rule. This sah, this patriotism was given by Dinanath ji to his family. Along with music, the consciousness of patriotism that was within Lata didi, was her father. The song written by Veer Savarkar was sung by Dinanath ji in the program of the British Viceroy in Shimla during the freedom struggle. performed on his theme.
