Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and several other party MPs staged a sit-in near Parliament on Thursday against the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG as part of the party’s ‘Dearness Free India’ campaign. The poor and the middle class are the worst hit by this.” The Congress leader alleged, “The price of kitchen gas cylinders has doubled. Now the price of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 102 per liter. The government is doing only one thing – take money out of the pockets of the poor and benefit two-three big industrialists.

It is noteworthy that in a meeting of Congress general secretaries and state in-charges held on Saturday, it was decided that the party will be in three phases from March 31 to surround the government regarding the increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and many food items.
