Parshvi Chopra’s three wickets followed by opener Shweta Sehrawat’s unbeaten half-century helped India beat New Zealand by eight wickets in the semi-finals of the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Friday. Parshvi took three wickets for 20 runs, which helped New Zealand’s team to score 107 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.

The Indian team won by losing two wickets in just 14.2 overs on the basis of Shweta’s unbeaten 61 off 45 balls. ‘Player of the match’ 16-year-old leg-spinner Parshvi took the third, fourth and fifth wickets of New Zealand’s innings as the team was 74 for five in the 13th over. Titas Sadhu, Mannat Kashyap, captain Shefali Verma and Archana Devi took one wicket each. New Zealand batsmen were seen struggling to score runs at the Senwes Park ground here. In the final, India will face the winner of the second semi-final between England and Australia.
