Leaders of the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) are ready for in-depth discussions in a two-day meeting starting here from Thursday. During this, he will announce a coordination committee and the ‘logo’ of the alliance. The opposition leaders will discuss a joint campaign strategy to take on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and resolve differences among their members. His alliance is also likely to draft a common minimum programme, make joint plans to contest across the country and announce some committees for seat sharing. Besides this, the issue of a convenor or chairperson to lead the alliance will also be discussed.

There is also speculation that some more regional parties may also join the 26-party opposition alliance at the Mumbai meeting. This is the third meeting of this alliance after Patna and Bengaluru. Congress’ Maharashtra unit president Nana Patole said the ‘India’ alliance will give the slogan ‘BJP Chale Jao’ at its meeting in Mumbai. Patole said that there are many capable candidates for the post of Prime Minister in the ‘India’ alliance. He claimed that some parties which are currently constituents of the BJP-led NDA may also join the opposition alliance. Convening the proposed meeting, Congress leader Milind Deora said the seat-sharing among the alliance partners has been finalized in most of the states.

‘India’ will give strong option: Pawar

Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar said that 63 representatives from 28 political parties will attend the third meeting of the opposition alliance ‘India’. Pawar expressed confidence that the opposition alliance would provide a strong alternative to bring about political change. Taking aim at his nephew Ajit Pawar, who joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra last month, he said the public will teach a lesson to those who left.

BJP has only one option, we have many: Uddhav

Responding to a question at a press conference on Wednesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said the question about the choice for the prime minister’s post should be asked of the BJP, which has had only one choice for the last nine years. He said, ‘India’ alliance has many options for the post of Prime Minister, what options does BJP have? Taking a dig at the Centre’s decision to cut the price of LPG cylinder as a ‘Raksha Bandhan’ gift, he said, ‘Was there no Raksha Bandhan in the last nine years? As ‘India’ progresses, LPG cylinders will start being given free of cost.

Advocating to make Kejriwal the PM candidate

New Delhi (Agency): Two leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday advocated the name of Arvind Kejriwal as the prime ministerial candidate of the opposition alliance ‘India’, saying that as the Chief Minister of Delhi, he had set such a model. It has been given which can benefit the entire country. However, a few hours later, Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi clarified that Kejriwal does not aspire to the post of Prime Minister. AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, Arvind Kejriwal’s aim in joining ‘India’ is to save the country. His goal is not to become Prime Minister.
