A day after joining the BJP in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the party has decided to field former Barnala MLA Kewal Dhillon for the Sangrur Lok Sabha bypoll. Only Dhillon has been MLA from Barnala for 2 times. It is noteworthy that only Dhillon had earlier served in many important positions in the Congress. He was a member of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Senior Vice President of Punjab Congress and contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur against Bhagwant Mann.
