There is now a plan to supply 24 hours electricity to the industry of Haryana on the lines of Gujarat. The draft of ‘Express Delivery’ is being prepared. Both the power companies – North and South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation are busy in making the policy. In principle, CM Manohar Lal Khattar has approved this scheme. Energy Minister Ch. Ranjit Singh had made a plan for this and sent it to the CMO.

This decision of the government will have two benefits. Firstly, industrialists will get 24-hour supply, secondly, the problem of pollution due to not running generators will also be relieved to a great extent. The government has planned to provide round-the-clock supply to all industrial areas in the state. At present the government is paying electricity cost of around Rs 5 per unit. Whereas it is being supplied to industries at the rate of Rs 8 per unit. In Gujarat, electricity is supplied 24 hours to industrialists. The officers of the corporations are also studying the policy of Gujarat. Not only this, if due to any technical reason or other reason the government has to impose power cut, then the industrialists will be compensated for it. A formula is being decided for this also. It is also possible that in case of non-availability of supply round the clock, the government may return the money as subsidy to the concerned industrialists. Similarly, the government has decided that the power lines passing over people’s houses, schools etc. will be shifted. Till now the expenses for this were being taken from the people only. Now the government has decided that the power lines will be removed at its own expense. A separate budget of about Rs 90 crore has been set aside for this.

Increasing load on Haryana

The demand for electricity is continuously increasing in the state. A large number of industries from Delhi have shifted to Haryana. Similarly, people of Delhi are now giving importance to Sonipat, Panipat, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Palwal, Manesar, Gurugram and Faridabad etc. as residence. Multi story buildings are being built. Due to this also electricity consumption has increased. Electricity Minister Ch. Ranjit Singh, while raising questions on Aam Aadmi Party’s electricity movement, said that if 24-hour electricity had been provided in Delhi, the industry would not have shifted nor would people have had to move to Haryana to live. In Punjab, the condition of industrialists is so bad that they have to do all the work on generators.

Complete supply will be available in Dhanis also

Similarly, the government has decided that electricity will be supplied 24 hours to the farms built in the fields of the villages of the state. For this, policies are being made by the corporations. This policy is in the final stage. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved this decision. Till now, only tube well supply is being provided in Dhanis. People living in Dhani were demanding 24-hour supply. This issue has also been raised many times in the Assembly.
