Nitish Kumar betrayed BJP in his desire to become PM: Amit Shah

Purnia (Bihar), 23 September (Agency)

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of betraying the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by joining hands with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress to fulfill his ambitions of becoming the prime minister. Shah claimed that the BJP would form the government in the state with an absolute majority. He alleged that Kumar had no ideology, so he abandoned socialism for caste-based politics. Shah said at the party’s rally in Purnia, “Nitish ji, you did the same thing in the year 2014. The people of Bihar will overthrow this grand alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BJP will form the government with full majority after the assembly elections in 2025. “We believe in the politics of service and development rather than selfishness and power. Nitish Kumar stabbed BJP in the back in his desire to become prime minister and now he is sitting in the lap of RJD and Congress. Shah said that the Chief Minister of Bihar has only one ideology– ‘My chair should not come under fire’.

Shah is on a two-day visit to the Seemanchal region of Bihar. He will hold meetings with MPs, MLAs and leaders of various cells of the party here. It is worth noting that Shah is on his first visit to the state after the BJP lost power in Bihar last month due to political upheaval.
