The protest against the installation of Neera counters has started near BTMC, located a short distance from the Bodh Gaya Mahabodhi temple. Buddhist monks in Bodh Gaya have opposed this. After reaching BTMC, under the leadership of Pragyadeep, the nephew of International Buddhist Council, Buddhist monks have protested against the stall of Neera center set up there. Let us tell you that this Neera center was inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 16 April this month. Now the opposition to it has started. Pragyadeep, the Bhante of International Buddhist Council, has said that the place where Neera’s counter has been installed is an international place. Thousands of tourists visit the Mahabodhi Temple.
In such a situation, a counter has been installed at this place with a photo of a palm tree, due to which the image of Bodh Gaya is being tarnished. He said that setting up of stall of Neera center is not sending a better message. Bhante Pragya Deep says that at this place only the Chief Minister had asked about the inauguration for that day but till now the Neera center has not been removed from this place. A demand has been made from the Gaya district officer that the counter of Neera center should be removed from this place without any delay, due to this a wrong message is being sent.
Actually Neera is made from the palm tree. The substance that is removed from the palm tree before the sunlight is called Neera. At the same time, after sunlight, it is considered as toddy. Which later turns alcoholic. Let us inform that after the prohibition of liquor in Bihar, toddy has also been kept in the category of desi liquor.
